Mission
URBAN ANIMAL offers professional photography services and sustainable products to our community with a promise that a portion of every sale goes to help local shelters and animal rescue organizations.
We are here to bring together a community of animal lovers who wish to make our urban spaces a better place for wildlife and pets to live.
Where We Live
Toronto, ON Canada is an incredible city with both a fantastic love for animals and an ever-growing need to do better by the wildlife and pets who live among us.
Lisa
Urban Animal Founder / Lead Photographer
Photographing animals for a living is a dream come true.
I live in Toronto, a culturally diverse city filled with many people who care deeply for the welfare of our pets and wildlife.
The Urban Animal Blog allows me to connect with fellow city dwellers and share their tales about tails and such.
I am happiest when I am around animals and consider it a great privilege to be able to tell their stories through my experiences and photography.
I hope you will follow me in my dream and join our community of great people making the lives of animals better every day.

I am a Toronto-based artist and writer.
I am, of course, an animal lover. I have a cat named Leo who has grown up with me and has been my best friend since I adopted him ten years ago. He is a beautiful tabby with intricate markings and a very cheeky personality.
The way animals can enrich our lives, specifically in urban settings is such a fruitful topic. Being able to blog about animals and how much joy they bring to the world is such a rewarding experience for me !
Though I wish to have many more pets in my life, it astounds me how much even one animal or even a single experience with an animal or pet can affect us and bring depth to our lives.
All aspects of nature and wildlife are so often disregarded in urban settings. I have experienced this myself, living in Toronto all my life. I think it’s something we must change if we wish to be a happier society as a whole. Wildlife should be cherished, protected and integrated into our daily lives. The Urban Animal blog is such a wonderful way to begin doing so !
Bisous
Consultant and Keeper of Time
I am a Sacred Birman. Being a condo dweller, Lisa was looking for a breed of cat that was comfortable in a smaller space, basking in the window light and lounging belly-up on the bed. I couldn’t be happier doing these perfect things with her.
I also enjoy keeping time so she doesn’t have to. I know when it’s time to wake up, time to eat and time to have treats. These are the important things in life, you know.
My other duties include re-organizing shelves, official box and plastic bag tester and am dedicated to keeping Lisa warm every night.

I was thrown from a car somewhere in the province of Quebec. A wonderful human brought me to a shelter.
Through the amazing volunteers with Freedom Drivers, who regularly rescue cats from kill-shelters, I made it to Toronto safely.
Lisa found me at the Bay Cat Hospital. Although I enjoyed sitting on a lot of laps there, I love sitting on Lisa’s the most.
I am a perfect assistant while she edits those stunning images and imagine I will be CEO in no time.
