If you or anyone you know would like to have a doggie photo booth set up at a business or event, reach out to Urban Animal so we can make this happen.

National Pet Day is celebrated on April 11th and was started in the United States by Colleen Paige, animal welfare advocate and pet and family lifestyle expert. She founded National Pet Day in 2006 to celebrate the joy pets can bring to us. But she also wanted to bring attention to the ongoing needs of many pets of all kinds waiting in shelters to be adopted. She encouraged people who want purebred dogs and cats to contact rescue organizations instead of going to a breeder.

“Don’t shop! Adopt!” has become the holiday motto.

A big thanks to Kathryn and her dog Charger from @houndtario for being there as well. Kathryn and Charger are exploring dog friendly businesses throughout Ontario and sharing their experiences with you on Instagram.
